About Edison AI

The operators

The people behind the work.

No account managers between you and the build. You work directly with the founders.

Lachlan, Director of Edison AI
Director

Lachlan

Operator. Builder. Commercial realist.

Lachlan has scaled two businesses to A$35 million (one of them, BOXXD, since acquired) with a lean team of three, 3PL partners, and a solid automation system. He understands the reality of growing companies: messy workflows, thin capacity, customer pressure, and systems that need to work without theatre.

At Edison AI, he focuses on delivery, operations, client outcomes, and making sure every AI system creates measurable business value, not just a nice demo.

Our story

Why Edison AI exists.

Two operators who got tired of AI strategy decks that never shipped. We build the systems, train the teams, and stay close until the change becomes part of how the business runs.

Where it started

Built by operators, for operators.

Edison AI started with a simple frustration: too many businesses were being sold AI strategy, but not enough were getting systems that actually worked inside the business.

What we believe

AI is useful, but it is not magic.

We believe AI should make previously messy, manual, or impossible processes finally work at scale. The value is not in replacing people. It is in giving good teams better systems: workflows that move faster, decisions that are better informed, and operations that no longer depend on memory, chasing, or spreadsheet gymnastics.

Our approach keeps humans in the loop where judgment matters, while AI handles the repetitive coordination around them. The result is streamlined operating infrastructure that turns effort into outcomes: faster quoting, cleaner follow-ups, sharper reporting, better training, and fewer things falling through the cracks.

Where it's going

Operating leverage you own.

We are building toward a future where growing businesses do not rent intelligence from consultants forever. They own the systems, workflows, and capability inside their team.

That means AI infrastructure that stays useful after implementation: agents that support the work, automations that reduce manual drag, dashboards that make performance visible, and trained teams who know how to keep improving the system.

Operating principles

Four principles that shape every engagement.

  1. 01

    Operator-led

We build what we would want to use ourselves. Every engagement runs through people who have shipped systems, trained teams and lived inside a P&L.

  2. 02

    Practical first

Strategy where needed; execution where it matters. We do not sell decks. We ship working systems your team uses on Monday.

  3. 03

    Honest about AI

AI is useful, not magic. We say so on the way in. Most opportunities come from removing low-value manual work, not from replacing people.

  4. 04

    Built for Australian SMBs

Not enterprise. Not Silicon Valley. We are built around the reality of $1M–$10M Australian operators. Time-poor, suspicious of hype, allergic to consulting theatre.

Education & experience

Strategy, engineering and learning design under one roof.

Most AI consultancies are strategy without execution, or engineers without commercial judgement. The founders bring the three together, so the work you commission actually ships, and your team actually adopts it.

  • 01

    Strategy and consulting (management-consulting background)

  • 02

Learning design and curriculum craft (cognitive-science informed)

  • 03

AI engineering. Agents, RAG, workflow automation, MCP

  • 04

Workflow design and automation (Make, n8n, Zapier, custom)

  • 05

Bespoke software (React, Supabase, Cloudflare, modern stack)

  • 06

Every engagement produces working software, working playbooks, or working capability, and a roadmap you own. Think AI consulting that deploys, not AI consulting that advises and exits.
